I chose the nom de plume 'fellrnr' for several reasons. Firstly, 'fell running' is the English term for trail running. It comes , coming from old Norse Fjell, meaning hill. However, 'fell' also means 'Of an inhumanly cruel nature; fierce'. More mundanely it means to one who has taken a fall. This ambiguity appeals to me. For most of my life I avoided exercise due to a genetic skin condition [[Epidermolysis Bullosa]]. As a result, I eventually gained enough weight to inspire me to start running.
