Terrain
So the formula is shown below, with p as the pace in seconds per mile and d as the distance in miles.
(0.000555476190476192p<sup>2</sup>-0.8333t+382)(1.0011d<sup>0.2012</sup>d)
For [[Excel]] users, the formula is
=(0.000555476190476192*H2*H2-0.8333*H2+382)*(1.0011*POWER(H3,0.2012)*H3)
Where H2 is the pace per mile in seconds and H3 is the distance in miles

The scaling for terrain is simpler; just multiply by these factors:
There is no official definition for terrain. The proposal that was posted on the fitocracy forums seems to have wide adoption and is reproduced here.
